ALSTASAN SILVOX (Silver Hydrogen Peroxide based Biodegradable Floriculture Disinfectant) addresses the following areas of concern without causing harmful/toxic effects.

Method of application:

Regular treatment by Drench method:

A fair dilution of the disinfectant is made and the solution is drenched to each plant every 15-30 days. Helps in treating the following diseases:

  • Fusarium wilt, by Fusarium oxysporum causes the lower leaves to curl up with root and stem rot to follow
  • Fusarium stem rot, by Fusarium sp. identified by reddish-brown spots on the lower stem portions
  • Rhizoctonia solani infestation is seen as brown bordered lesions at the lower stem portions. The stems develop a dry outlook
  • Root knot nematodes (Meloidogyne sp., Pratylenchus sp., Trichodorus sp., Belonolaimus sp., Ditylenchus sp., Hemicyliophora sp., Rotylenchus sp.) causes galls in the roots which may extend upto an inch in diameter; reduces plant life; causing yellowing of leaves that wilt in summer

Regular treatment by Spray method:

A solution of the disinfectant is made and sprayed on the plants once in every 7-15 days helps in treating the following diseases:

  • Fusarium wilt, by Fusarium oxysporum causes the lower leaves to curl up with root and stem rot to follow
  • Fusarium stem rot, by Fusarium sp. identified by reddish-brown spots on the lower stem portions
  • Small sunken leaf lesions called Scabs are seen on the corms, with a slight soft rot development, is caused by Pseudomonas marginata
  • Stemphylium Leaf spot by Stemphylium botryosum is seen as small round yellow spots with a red center. The spotting increases with age

Regular treatment by Drip method:

The disinfectant is added to irrigation water and fed to the soil bed through drip line. It is advised to repeat this process once in every 15 days. Helps in the treatment of the following diseases:

  • Botrytis blight, by Botrytis cinerea, identified by light brown spots on the lower petals which gradually spread to other petals. The infected tissues have a gray fungal covering
  • Curvularia Leaf Spot by Curvularia trifolli causes tanned rectangular spots with a yellow halo, that enlarge into full leaf necrosis
  • Small sunken leaf lesions called Scabs are seen on the corms, with a slight soft rot development, is caused by Pseudomonas marginata

Soil fumigation:

A solution of this disinfectant is applied uniformly on the moistened soil beds. Helps in the treatment of the following:

  • Root knot nematodes (Meloidogyne sp., Pratylenchus sp., Trichodorus sp., Belonolaimus sp., Ditylenchus sp., Hemicyliophora sp., Rotylenchus sp.) causes galls in the roots which may extend upto an inch in diameter; reduces plant life; causing yellowing of leaves that wilt in summer
  • Stromatinia Dry Rot causes brown scaling on the corms. When de-scaled, shallow sunken area is seen, with the plant later dying by neck rot. It is caused by Stromatinia gladioli
